Community leaders of Oke-Ode Kingdom have commended the Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hadji AbdulRasheed Femi Yusuf, over his various mediatory roles that partly resulted in the final resolution of the Elesa chieftaincy tussle in the town.

The commendation was made on Thursday (11th February, 2026) when a delegation of the community leaders, led by the Elesa of Oke-Ode, HRH, Oba Mufutau Akanbi Adebayo Ibrahim, Ilufemiloye I, paid a thank-you visit to the Chairman in his office.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, which included titled chiefs, leaders of the Oke-Ode Community Development Association (OCDA), and other key stakeholders, the Asiwaju of Oke-Ode, Hon. Kolawole Yusuf, said that the community appreciated Hadji Yusuf’s passionate commitment to the resolution of the chieftaincy tussle, which he exhibited through several peace brokerage initiatives between the contending parties.

Hon. Yusuf recalled that the Local Government Chairman hosted several peace meetings in his office and also facilitated at least two meetings between the contending parties and the state Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi, all in a bid to settle the case out of court to facilitate the quick appointment of the Elesa as recommended by the Oke-Ode Kingmakers.

The Community leader, however, thanked God that at the end, the ensuing court case was decided in favour of the Kingmakers and the Governor promptly made a proclamation approving the appointment of Prince Mufutau as recommended by the Kingmakers.

Hon. Yusuf also commended the Council Chairman’s effort in ensuring adequate security coverage for Oke-Ode and the entire Locel Government.

In his remarks, the Elesa was also full of praises for the Council Chairman on his administration’s numerous developmental strides in the Local Government since his assumption of office a little over a year ago.

Oba Mufutau prayed Almighty Allah to continue to direct Hadji Yusuf’s steps towards taking Ifelodun to greater heights, adding that God will continue to uphold and upgrade him.

In his response, the Council Chairman, Hadji Yusuf, thanked the Oke-Ode Community leaders for the visit, saying that he was just doing the job for which he was elected: to lead the Local Government to ensure that peace and tranquility, the two critical ingredients of development, reign supreme in Oke-Ode in particular and the entire Local Government in general.

He wished the Elesa long, peaceful, and development-filled reign.

As part of the Local Government’s contribution to the ongoing renovation of the Elesa’s Palace, Hadji Yusuf announced a donation to complement the community’s effort to making the palace, which was recently vandalised by hoodlums, habitable for the new king.

Other members of the Oke-Ode Community delegation were High Chief Asanlu, Alhaji AbdulLateef Audu; High Chief Aladẹ, Barrister Bisiriyu Bayo Jejelola; Chief Akogun, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Kunle Akogun; the National President of the Oke-Ode Community Development Association (OCDA), Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Ajala-Bello; the Chairman of the Ilorin branch of OCDA, Alhaji Saka Audu; the Immediate past National Secretary of OCDA, Alhaji Dauda Akande; a former Chairman of the Ifelodun Local Government, Barrister Hassan Kehinde Garuba; a woman community leader, Alhaja Sidikat Ojulari-Aliyu; and Alhaji Razak Bamidele Jimoh.
