Kwara NCoS Commends Protocol Officer, DSC Tijani Salihu, for Winning Best Leadership Award at 32nd ASC Basic Course

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Kwara State Command, has commended its Protocol Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Corrections (DSC) Tijani Salihu, for his exceptional leadership and outstanding performance at the just concluded 32nd Assistant Superintendent of Corrections (ASC) Basic Course held at the Correctional Service Training College (CSTC), Kirikiri, Lagos, from January 12th to July 3, 2026.

The six-month intensive course brought together officers from the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, to further strengthen their professional competence and leadership capacity in line with the vision of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

During the course, DSC Tijani Salihu served as the OO General, a highly demanding leadership position responsible for coordinating course activities, official programmes, ceremonial events and administrative schedules.

He discharged these responsibilities with remarkable professionalism, discipline, organisational competence and exemplary leadership, earning the admiration of the College Management, Directing Staff, Drill Instructors, and (PE) Instructors and fellow participants.

In recognition of his exceptional performance and outstanding leadership qualities, DSC Tijani Salihu was honoured with the prestigious Certificate of Best Leadership during the Passing-Out Parade (POP).

The award was presented by Assistant Controller General of Corrections (ACG) Olatunbosun Delẹ Ajíbógun fsi, who reviewed the parade in the presence of the Commandant of the College, Controller of Corrections (CC) Adenaya Mobolaji Babatunde, alongside other senior officers and distinguished guests.

The recognition underscores the Nigerian Correctional Service’s commitment to rewarding excellence, dedication, discipline and effective leadership. It also reflects the high professional standards exhibited by officers of the Kwara State Command.

Reacting to the award, DSC Tijani Salihu expressed profound appreciation to the Commandant, CC Adenaya Mobolaji Babatunde, the Deputy Commandant, the Directing Staff, the Drill and PE Instructors, and all participants of the 32nd ASC Basic Course for their support, mentorship and cooperation throughout the training.

He stated that the honour would further inspire him to continue serving the Service with dedication, integrity and professionalism.

The Controller of Corrections, Kwara State Command, CC Tolorunshagba Femi Emmanuel, described the award as a well-deserved recognition of diligence, commitment and exemplary leadership.

He congratulated DSC Tijani Salihu on the achievement for projecting the good image of the Command and encouraged other officers to emulate his dedication to duty and pursuit of excellence.

The Command also acknowledged the visionary leadership of the Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, MFR, whose commitment to capacity building, professionalism and personnel development continues to inspire officers across the Nigerian Correctional Service.
