Kwara Fulani Political Association backs PDP ticket, visits Deputy Gov’ship candidate, Rev. Fawenu

The Kwara State Fulani Joint Political Association has paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 governorship election, Rev. COS Fawenu, to congratulate him on his emergence as the running mate to the party’s governorship candidate, Engineer Suleiman Bolakale Kawu.

The delegation, who visited the candidate weekend, said the visit was to express its solidarity with the PDP ticket and reaffirm its commitment to supporting the party ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.

During the visit, members of the association offered prayers for the success of the PDP governorship ticket and pledged to work towards its victory at the polls. They also prayed for the governorship candidate, Engineer Suleiman Bolakale Kawu, and former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, asking for divine wisdom, guidance, and success in their political engagements.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, its leader, Alhaji Muhammad Toyin Ibrahim, described Rev. Fawenu as a leader whose track record of service, integrity, and humility has earned him widespread respect across Kwara State.

He noted that Rev. Fawenu’s years of service in both public office and partisan politics demonstrate his commitment to selfless leadership and the development of the state.

The delegation highlighted his previous roles, including serving as Special Assistant to former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, former Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kwara State, former PDP State Treasurer, and former PDP Kwara South Senatorial Chairman, describing his political journey as one marked by dedication and accountability.

According to the association, Rev. Fawenu’s reputation as a God-fearing and inclusive leader has endeared him to people across religious, ethnic, and political divides in the state.

The visit also featured special prayers for peace, unity, and credible leadership in Kwara State as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The delegation included former Special Assistant (Fulani), Alhaji Muhammad Toyin Ibrahim; the State Chairman of the Fulani Joint Political Association, Alhaji Aliu Jimoh Abodunrun; the State Women Leader, Alhaja Aishat Suleiman Iyabo Fulani; and the State Youth Coordinator, Mallam Musa Olayinka Mumeen.
