The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State for the 2027 general election, Engineer Salihu Yakubu Danladi (SYD), has extended a hand of fellowship to other aspirants who participated in the party’s governorship primary, declaring that the exercise produced “no winner and no loser.”
Danladi, who emerged victorious in the keenly contested primary election held on Friday, described his emergence as a collective achievement for members of the APC across the state.
Speaking with journalists shortly after he was officially announced as the party’s flagbearer, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly emphasized the need for unity and reconciliation within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 polls.
According to him, the outcome of the primary should be seen as a victory for the entire APC family rather than an individual triumph.
“We must first appreciate Almighty God for this moment. In APC, we remain one united family. There is no winner and there is no loser; we are all winners,” he said.
Danladi also expressed gratitude to the people of Kwara State for their support and commended party stakeholders for giving Kwara North the opportunity to produce the APC governorship candidate.
The APC candidate further appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as support and leadership, noting that the President’s role was instrumental in the emergence of a candidate from the Borgu axis and Kwara North.
He equally praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, describing him as a visionary leader whose administration has transformed different sectors of the state’s economy and governance.
Danladi assured party loyalists and residents that his administration, if elected in 2027, would sustain and build upon the developmental achievements of the current government.
Having served as Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly for nearly seven years, he said he has been actively involved in the policies and reforms implemented by the AbdulRazaq administration.
He added that the focus going forward would be to ensure continuity in governance and further improve the fortunes of the state.
“All I can assure Kwarans is that the legacy will continue, and our state will witness even greater progress,” Danladi stated.

The result was officially announced on Friday at the Banquet Hall, Ilorin, by the Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee, Distinguished Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, who declared him the duly elected flagbearer of the party for the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.
