Kwara Central: Labour leader canvases for PDP candidate

Former Chairman, Radio, Television, Theatre, Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU), Kwara State Chapter, Comrade Gesua Yekini has said that the former Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi will use his vast wealth of experience to turn around the fortune of the people of Kwara Central Senatorial District.

Comrade Gesua Yekini in a chat with newsmen in Ilorin described Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi as a scholar and cheerful giver ready to develop the District and the State.

The former Labour Leader explained that the former Minister had made his mark and touched the lives of the people in various field as a Minister, Education Commissioner and Special Adviser.

He added that the people needs quality representation that will lead to a better living for the people of Kwara Central Senatorial District.

Comrade Gesua Yekini said Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi fondly called Omoluabi can be counted among the few sons of Emirate who can give quality representation with positive results and understands why he has to serve his Constituency better for the peace, progress and prosperity of the nation in general.

He opined that the Nation’s politics need to evolve beyond choosing candidates based on ethnicity, sentiments, material things, religion etc, but choosing candidates based on their qualification, antecedent, manifesto and policy direction and what they plan to do in office.

The Union Leader said that citizens need to consider what constitutes their topmost needs and choose the candidate whose agenda provides solutions to those needs.

He condemned votes buying in all ramifications which he added has led to more voter apathy and an increased lack of commitment of governments to improving the lives of citizens.

Comrade Gesua added that if this act is not nipped in the bud, a responsible government answerable to the people may never emerge in the Country.
