Earlier today, Abdulrasheed Akogun took a bold and deliberate step towards actualising his aspiration to represent the good people of Share/Oke-Ode State Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, as he officially submitted his completed nomination form.
This marks another defining moment in his political journey, that has been built on service, sacrifice, consultation, and unwavering commitment to the people.
This aspiration is not driven by personal glory, political vanity, or the hunger for the title of “Honourable.” It is certainly not motivated by the desire to amass wealth or seek relevance.
Rather, it is borne out of a deep sense of responsibility and an unshakable conviction that their constituency deserves purposeful and proactive representation.
“The realities confronting our communities today demand far more than rhetoric and ceremonial representation. Our people deserve a representative who understands the terrain and its intricacies. One who appreciates the struggles of the masses, and requires little to no instruction before taking action in the collective interest of the constituency”, Akogun said.
According to him, “cross the 10 wards of Share/Oke-Ode Constituency of Ifelodun LG, comprising of more than 250 communities, our people continue to yearn for quality representation that is accessible, responsive, courageous, and result-oriented.
“From youth empowerment to educational advancement, infrastructural development, economic opportunities, and social inclusion, the expectations of our people are legitimate and must no longer be ignored or treated with indifference.
“The myriad of challenges facing our constituency require more than mere promises. They require strong networks, meaningful contacts, wealth of experience, intellectual depth, and strategic engagement. All anchored on humility, empathy, willingness to consult widely, and the capacity to genuinely listen to the voices of the people.
“For the past five years, I have remained consistent on this journey, I have interacted with our people across communities, listened to their concerns, shared in their aspirations, and studied the pathways through which meaningful development can be attracted to our constituency.
“I firmly believe that the year 2027 presents the perfect blend of opportunity, preparedness, and realistic timing for our constituency to embrace a new era of purposeful representation, which I represent.
“The moment calls for a bridge-builder, a listener, a mobilizer, and a dependable voice that can effectively echo the desires and aspirations of our people at the state legislature.
“With sincerity of purpose and total dedication, I therefore enjoin all party members, stakeholders and constituents to find in me a worthy, reliable, and dependable messenger for the people of Share/Oke-Ode State Constituency.
“I am prepared to serve with integrity, courage, competence, and accountability, while ensuring that the interests of our constituency remain paramount at all times.
