…Commends APC’s LG POll Screening Exercise Committee

All roads lead to the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre by 11 am today, where a former TIC Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government and a leading aspirant in the ongoing local government electioneering process, Hon. Abdul-Hameed Oladipupo Alli (Mr. Nigeria), will be hosting dignitaries, party chieftains, and stakeholders in local government administration for a media roundtable on local government and rural development in Kwara State.

The event is expected to evaluate the impact of the Governor’s administration at the grassroots level through the achievements of the recently dissolved TIC Chairman in the state.

Hon. Alli, known as Mr. Nigeria, who made history by becoming Nigeria’s youngest publisher at the age of 16, will be running the event in honour of the governor under the auspices of his Kwara People Magazine.

The event is expected to be jointly chaired by Alhaji Kunle Suleiman and Hon. Bagudu, both members of the APC Elders Forum, while Alhaji Salman Mustapha Isowo, APC State Secretary, and Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye, CPS to the Kwara State Governor, are among the invited guest speakers. The Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abdullahi Bata, is invited to give the keynote address. The Executive Governor of the State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has also been invited as the special guest of honour. Other invitees include the Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr. Alimi Abdulrazaq, the Secretary to the Kwara State Government, Prof. Mamman Saba, Special Adviser/Counsellor to the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Saadu Salaudeen, and the non-executive Director of NNPC PLC, Dr. Ghali Alaaya, among others.

The occasion will be used to honour some worthy personalities with the Distinguished Kwarans Merit Award (DIKMA). The nominees for the award include His Lordship, Hon. Justice S. O. Muhammed, retired Grand Khadi, the Directors of Personnel (DPM), Local Government Treasurers (LGTs), and some of the immediate past TIC Chairmen. Their achievements will be featured in a special edition of the Kwara People Magazine, to be launched at the event.

In a related development, the Kwara State Muslim Council has endorsed Hon. Alli’s aspiration, with prayers that Almighty Allah grants him success in the exercise. This endorsement was made by the Chairman and a former Grand Khadi of Kwara State, Hon. Justice S.O. Mohammed, during a meeting at Oriokoh Mosque where the aspirant presented his letter of intent.

Meanwhile, the aspirant has commended the Ilorin West Local Government Chairmanship Aspirants screening committee led by Alhaji AbdulMajeed Aburo Gomina, along with other notable members such as Alhaji Kale Oloje, Alhaji Mustapha Akanbi Oke, Alhaji Piri, and Engr. Tunde Kannike, for successfully conducting the first stage of the screening exercise which took place at Olosasa’s Compound yesterday. He urges all aspirants to abide by the agreement for peaceful resolution reached yesterday as good ambassadors of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the party.
