The Association of Resident Doctors,
Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (ARD-KWASUTH) has commended Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara for the payment of the 2024 Accoutrement Allowance.
The President of the ARD-KWASUTH, Dr Abdulfatah Abdulazeez, stated this on Thursday in Ilorin in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Abdulazeez disclosed that the governor has also approved the upward review of House Officers’ remuneration.
According to him, these commendable interventions have significantly enhanced our capacity to recruit House Officers, thereby bridging the manpower gap and improving service delivery within the hospital.
Abdulazeez stated that: “In recognition of these laudable gestures, His Excellency was conferred with an Award of Excellence by ARD KWASUTH” .
He pointed out that as 2026 sets in, many doctors are preparing for professional examinations, clinical updates, and engaging in research activities, including proposal writing and dissertations.
The ARD-KWASUTH president observed that in 2025, Kwara became the first in the federation to receive the Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF).
“We sincerely hope that His Excellency will sustain this admirable record of leadership by approving the payment of the 2026 MRTF and 2025 accoutrement.
“This support will greatly facilitate the training, academic development, and professional advancement of our members, and ultimately translate into improved healthcare delivery for the people of Kwara,” he said.
