2023: Reject vote-buying, Bolaji Abdullahi tells Nigerians

Former Sports Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi has called on Nigerians to shun vote buying as the 2023 general elections is fast approaching.

Abdullahi while speaking on a Radio Station in Ilorin called on the people to vote for compete leaders that have the interest of the masses at heart to safe the future of the Nation.

The Former Minister who condemned the incessant kidnapping and killing in the land as a result of insecurity, challenged government to address the issue of insecurity head on to safe the Nation.

He described his achievements as Sport Minister as unprecedented, as the Nation won African Nations Cup which Nigeria have not had for years, Nigeria got a world Cup trophy, at Youth Level, which Nigeria and Nigerians were craving for before his emergency as Sport Minister.

Abdullahi explained further what led to his exit from the government, “with these achievements, we were preparing for another world tournament, which was an Olympic tournament, and hoping we were going to come out victorious has we had proven. During this period, my boss and my good benefactor, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, had left PDP for APC. But with this, as a nationalist whose aim is always to contribute my own quota for national development, I continued with my national assignment as evident in our preparation towards the then Olympic tournament… But everything went wrong when we, along with my boss, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, came to Kwara State/Ilorin for PDP Presidential campaign and I was instructed to get to stage to start hurling insults and untoward against Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki. As a Muslim and an Omoluabi, I had no moral rights to do so. As a result, I had to tender my resignation letter”.

The Former Minister who rolled out his intentions and plan as a Senator for Kwara Central noted that the Nation needs an experience and versatile leader who is abreast of what governance is all about to marshalls the feelings and expectations of his people.

Abdullahi explained that as a former Commissioner for Education in Kwara State and Sports Minister he had garnered the experience to adequately and properly represent his Senatorial District.

He described as worrisome the economy situation of the Nation saying that such required as experience representation to turn it round for good.

The Former Sports Minister noted that Nigerians are suffering and facing untold hardship and find it difficult to feed under the present administration stressing the need to change the tide for the better.
