LNRBA, FG empower 30 graduate youths on Agro-preneurship

The Lower Niger River Basin Authority (LNRBA), under the Federal Government Graduate Youth Empowerment Scheme has trained and empowered 30 youths on Agro-prenuership.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 30 graduate youths were empowered with 40 bags of feeds, 40 birds, drugs and token of N15,000 as Starter packs.

Speaking at the Empowerment programme, The Managing Director of LNRBDA, Dr. Adeniyi Aremu explained that the programme started in 2016, adding that the Authority was the first to kickstart the scheme.

Aremu emphasized the importance of boosting the Agro industry in Nigeria, saying that this is the only way the country can achieve food security.

“The Authority wants to promote food security and ensure graduates stand on their own,” he said.

Also speaking, Alhaji Muftau Morounfoye, the Director of Administrative Services of the Authority while commending the Federal Government for the scheme appealed on the need for more funding.

He charged the participants to make judicious use of the training and empowerment Starter packs, so as to be Agro-business entrepreneurs.

According to him, this is a privilege for them to be selected for the initiative.
